About Me

Kitty Lou Vintage is a vintage inspired brand, working to bring fashions of the past to life for the modern day vintage lover.

Are you tired of not being able to find vintage clothing in your size? I know I was, and that’s what spurred me on to start up ‘Kitty Lou Vintage’. I create “magic with fabric” (as a friend of mine once aptly said) for the vintage loving lady using original vintage patterns and often from vintage fabrics and notions.

Set up in 2013 as a part-time endeavour, I began to use my vast  collection of vintage sewing patterns to recreate authentic looking garments of by-gone times. Having always had a keen interest in period costume, I knew that it wasn’t just the shape and fit of a garment that was important, but the attention to detail and finishing touches that make a piece completely unique from any other.

Sewing has always been a passion of mine closely followed by an enthusiasm for fashion and it’s history, as well as costume design and I soon realised it’s potential as a career. I graduated from Hull School of Art & Design in 2012 with a BA (Hons) in Fashion, with over 10 years experience of sewing and working with fabrics, and a vast knowledge of fashion history.

I concentrate on creating made to measure garments from original vintage sewing patterns, dating from the 1920s through to the 1960s. Whilst I mainly work from original vintage patterns, I do also design and cut patterns for a truly unique and bespoke garment, taking an image of a garment and recreating it to the client’s specifications.

So if, like me, you love vintage fashion but struggle to find something that fits, get in touch today and I can help you realise your dream vintage dress or help you build up an entire wardrobe, completely made to measure!

Unfortunately I do not accept repairs or alterations.
